'Identity' Pronoun Piece

This was done for a college project around the theme of 'identity'. I used a fine-line pen to draw on thin, brown paper as a part of experimenting with different media and styles of drawing. I like how it turned out, despite it being a simplistic drawing without a lot of detail (I think it looks effective that way). This piece is also about my experience with being trans, and is meant to somewhat reflect my feelings about my pronouns.

'Joel' Portrait

This piece is something I did at home, and isn't related to any college work or projects. He is a character most known as Joel from a game I like called 'The Last of Us', and I drew him in pencil over one or two months (I took a lot of breaks while drawing him so I could spend time on certain parts individually, without worrying about getting the whole thing done and inevitably rushing it). I think using this method is what made this one of my favourite pieces of work.

'Contrast Drawings'

These drawings were for a project related to contrasts, and I decided to base it around 'animate and inanimate'. These two are supposed to reflect both movement and motionless but also things both living and non-living. I made two simple backgrounds with white acrylic paint and, for the left one, I drew the plant in pencil, and the one on the right is drawn in sharpie.

'Doll' Fragment Drawing

This piece is from a college project that I did related to toys and the impact they have on children, as well as the things they're taught about the world. During the project, I took fragments of photographs I took and drew the rest of the image myself, this one being in pencil. I left the piece unfinished due to trying to get used to not having overall 'polished' work, which allowed me to be able to create a focal point in other parts of the drawing like what was inside the box rather than the box itself.

OC Digital Drawing

This is an older drawing that I did digitally while trying to develop my digital skills. It's an unfinished drawing I did using the app Procreate and is another example of some experimentation with character design but also with colour, because I am used to drawing traditionally in pencil and black and white.

'Beautiful Daughter'

For this piece, I sketched it out in pencil before using a fine-line pen for the line work and highlighters to colour it in. This is from a project I did in college about identity, in which I talked about being transgender.

Self Sketchbook Spread

This is a drawing from my personal work in my moleskin sketchbook. I used multiple different medias to make a spread that would represent me in a way, and some things that come to mind when I think of things that would reflect who I am and what I like. I included a quick self portrait done in pencil, a fine-liner drawing of my eyes surrounded by tiny sheep and a bookshelf that held some other things that reflect my personality. The medias I used are pencil, graphite stick, a sharpie, some gel pens and a ballpoint pen.
